Tech Lead - Frontend/Delivery — Iconic Australian Marketplace

About the Role:
One of Australia’s household names — servicing millions of customers across 18+ sites nationally — is investing seriously in technology for the first time in its history. We’re hiring a Tech Lead - Frontend/Delivery to lead the team building the customer-facing platform: multi-branded websites and the mobile experience customers use to bid, buy and sell every day.

About You:
This is a genuine hybrid of technical leadership, engineering management and delivery ownership — you won’t just write code or just run standups, you’ll do both. You’ll lead a small, close-knit team of ~4 engineers, staying hands-on enough to contribute to architecture decisions while taking real accountability for what ships and when. You’ve run a team like a startup before — lean, focused, and outcome-driven — and you’re ready to build something you’re genuinely proud of.

What you’ll do:
- Own delivery for the team — be the person who can always answer “are we on track?”
- Lead and mentor ~4 front-end-leaning engineers, with some backend exposure across the team
- Contribute directly to architecture and technical direction alongside the team
- Partner closely with product and engineering leadership to keep the roadmap realistic and on schedule

What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience leading a small engineering team — technically credible, not just process-driven
- Strong front-end background (React/Next.js highly regarded), full-stack exposure a plus
- A track record of owning delivery outcomes, not just facilitating ceremonies
- Genuine enthusiasm for building something you’d put your name to — this isn’t a role for someone coasting
