Lead Salesforce Developer

Other Sydney Permanent $170k – $200k plus super

Join this household name and play a critical role as a lead Salesforce developer

  • Own the Salesforce platform end to end as the primary technical authority
  • Build CI/CD pipelines from scratch — SFDX, GitHub Actions, Copado or Gearset
  • Partner with an internal AI Studio on Salesforce Agentforce and AI automation

**About the company
**
Our client is a household name with 3.3 million customers. The business is now under new ownership and investing in its platform properly for the first time. There’s a genuine building mandate here — not a cost-cutting one. The CPTO is the kind of technical leader worth working for — high standards, transparent, and genuinely invested in doing things right.

**About the role
**
This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership position — you’ll be the primary Salesforce authority across the group.Salesforce here isn’t a peripheral CRM. It’s the core back-office ERP — underpinning invoicing, finance, asset management, and the full company’s management lifecycle. The whole business runs on it.

What the first 6 months looks like:
You’ll be getting hands-on fast. The platform has real complexity and real debt — CI/CD pipelines to build from scratch, a legacy org to audit and stabilise, and a codebase that has historically relied on click-ops and offshore development. Your job is to understand the system, address the most critical fragility, and start laying the foundation for how good Salesforce engineering should work here.

Once you’ve got visibility across the platform, you’ll shift into professionalising it — headless Salesforce architecture, clean deployment pipelines, structured tech debt remediation, and coding standards the whole team can build from.

You’ll be:

  • Building CI/CD pipelines from scratch using Salesforce DX, GitHub Actions, Copado, Gearset or equivalent
  • Conducting a structured technical debt audit and leading the remediation roadmap
  • Designing and maintaining integrations across 15+ connected systems (REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture)
  • Partnering with the AI team to embed Salesforce Agentforce agents and AI-powered workflows into the platform

You’ll need:

  • 5+ years hands-on Salesforce development — Apex, LWC, SOQL, Flow across Sales, Service, or Experience Cloud
  • Real CI/CD experience — you’ve built or owned a Salesforce deployment pipeline, not just used change sets
  • Integration architecture experience — REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, connecting Salesforce to external systems
  • Experience auditing a Salesforce org and leading technical debt remediation
  • Strong communicator — you can translate complex technical decisions for non-technical stakeholders
  • Based in Sydney - onshore presence is essential for this role

The offer

  • Up to $200k + super based on experience
  • Sydney CBD-adjacent, hybrid (2–3 days in office)
  • Real ownership — the platform, the standards, eventually the team
