The Role
A major enterprise is undergoing a large-scale digital transformation, replacing legacy reporting processes with a real-time dashboard that surfaces critical data across risk, compliance, and security. This platform will be used by teams across the organisation — including senior leadership — to make faster, more informed decisions.
As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you’ll lead the development of the frontend layer for this high-visibility platform. You’ll work in a modern React/TypeScript environment (Next.js, Node, Storybook, Playwright), driving new feature development, improving performance, and shaping the overall user experience.
This is a hands-on role in a collaborative, fast-moving squad. You’ll take the lead on frontend architecture, mentor others, and own your work end-to-end — from UI through to backend-for-frontend integration.
About You
You’re a principal or staff-level engineer with deep frontend experience and a product mindset. You care about code quality, performance, and creating intuitive, accessible interfaces. While frontend is your strength, you're also comfortable jumping into Node (BFF) or Go services when needed.
You’re confident leading by example, love working closely with product and design, and are great at getting alignment across teams.
Essential
- Expert in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks (Next.js, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with Storybook, Playwright, and MSW (Mock Service Worker)
- Strong background in Node.js
- Able to lead technical direction on the frontend and mentor others
- Up to $1,400/day (inclusive of super)
- 12 Month Contract
- Hybrid working in Sydney – 2–3 days in-office, with Thursdays as a team day
- High-impact work on a platform seen across the business
