Please introduce yourself
I'm Jaydn, a medical scientist turned software developer.
What do you do for work?
I'm currently working for a startup as a full-stack developer, primarily building an internal product to automate processes to help our operations team achieve tasks faster, and with less effort.
As someone who really enjoys crafting user experiences, I feel fortunate to have been entrusted by the team to implement a design system that will influence the aesthetics and patterns for our products.
What do you do outside work?
I love to travel—I'm a huge advocate for solo travel and see it as an investment for self-discovery and personal growth.
But now that we're in lockdown, zoom partaaays!
Toughest work moment?
Even though I've been coding for a while now, sometimes I still get a bout of imposter syndrome.
To alleviate this, I've started doing personal retrospectives at the end of each sprint to document the little wins which helps me climb out of that mindset.
Most rewarding work moment?
This is not a specific moment per se but I find it immensely satisfying when you're able to solve a pain point for the end user and be able to see the person's reaction or hear them say "Oh, this change makes my job so much easier". Makes my day.
