Lead Software Developer - Python, Django | Sydney
Details (ARCHIVED)THE ROLE
We're a small organisation that's in an exciting stage of growth and looking for a lead developer to take our product to the next level. You'll write code day-to-day, help define the technology stack, and weigh in on the product roadmap. You’ll ensure system quality and stability alongside the testing team, set and maintain coding standards, and establish engineering best practices. We’re a small team so we’ll also be looking that you can help with ongoing setup, maintenance and management of our AWS infrastructure. As the lead developer, you’ll have an opportunity to mentor junior developers, playing a big part in their growth.
You’re someone who’s confident working across the full stack, but if you’re primarily back-end focused (with some front-end capabilities), that’s ok too. You have a strong understanding of responsive design when building single page applications, have experience designing software data models, and know how to implement and manage cloud infrastructure (ideally with AWS). There’s lots to do, so you’re adaptable and pragmatic when it comes to making technology decisions. Building an inclusive, respectful, and engaging environment is important to us. Being an active contributor and mentor on the team, while also being able to communicate technical concepts to people who may be less technical is super important.
- HTML templating engines like Django template language, ERB, HAML, etc
- AWS, ECS, Docker
- Build a product that has real world impact on the Australian innovation ecosystem.
- Set the early technical direction of this fast-growing platform.
- Join a friendly and inclusive team of talented individuals who are passionate about their work
Email your resume, portfolio, or anything else you’re proud of to Hannah Field at Lookahead Search: email@example.com
I'm a recruiter who's actually technical and I'm happy to share more detail with anyone who's interested.
