Full Stack Developer | Melbourne

Details (ARCHIVED)

My client is a digital agency who specialise in completely bespoke web and mobile solutions with a range of long-term clients from government, to health services, sport, and social issues. They're currently looking for a Full Stack Developer who favours the front end and has a passion for all things javascript. They set the bar pretty high in terms of their technical standard, but the staff are certainly rewarded for their efforts

They are an equal opportunity employer who puts tremendous value on diversity. They do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

The tech stack varies from project to project, but predominantly includes a mix of HTML & CSS (SASS, Foundation, Materialize), Javascript (frameworks usually include jQuery, React/Redux or Angular), with either Ruby on Rails or PHP on the backend. The team is all about using the latest tech available, and is also passionate about open-source.

You've already got at least a few years of commercial experience with a strong working knowledge of MVC design patterns to create well designed software - you like to focus more on the 'why' than the 'how'. You're fluent in CSS and HTML, and have had experience using a range of Javascript frameworks in some depth. While your main strength is on the front-end, you're not afraid to use (and learn more of) Ruby on Rails or PHP in order to help get the work done. You thrive on team collaboration and always looking to give input - you're not the kind of developer who likes to just sit alone at their desk with their headphones on all day bashing out code.

  • Convenient Melbourne inner-city location
  • Working in a culture of experimentation, knowledge-sharing and continual improvement, while also creating an enjoyable workplace with plenty of social outings and regular team lunches.
  • Being part of a passionate, supportive and respective cross-functional team that values constant learning and is passionate about open-source software
  • Be part of a talented dev team with multiple decades worth of experience and knowledge
  • Annual company retreat (last year they relaxed in the sun by the pool, this year they went skiing!)
Send an email with your resume, website, Github account, links to apps or anything else you're proud of. At that point I'll tell you more about the role and we can decide if there's a fit. Even if this role isn't quite right for you but you are passionate about all things Javascript, I would still love to hear from you.
