Ruby on Rails Developer (Contract) | Melbourne
Details (ARCHIVED)THE ROLE
You'll collaborate closely with another Ruby on Rails developer on a web application that will help primary school aged children engage with their learning. Your focus will be on creating a robust/performant and fun UI and you'll play a strong role in any front end decision making.
You're a mid to senior level Rails developer with experience maintaining and adding to existing apps. You're comfortable diving into unfamiliar code and working out what's going on. Ideally you will be comfortable on the front end as well. You'll have opinions that you can bring to the team to help shape the direction of the development going forward (but also understand true collaboration can mean compromise).
We're a reputable not for profit company in the Education Sector, we're a nice bunch of people who care about students. We love collaboration and love to share ideas amongst our small team to find the best path forward. All code goes through a review process, we use Semaphore for CI and Codeclimate for quality - and pride ourselves on 100% test coverage. We build robust applications and value best practice engineering.
- An attractive daily rate on a long term contract (6 months at least)
- Your peers are highly technical with a focus on best practice
- Flexible work environment with work-from-home options
- Located in the eastern suburbs, close to a major train station
Applying is easy. Send an email with your resume, website, GitHub account, links to apps or anything else you're proud of. At that point I'll tell you more about the role and we can decide if there's a fit.
